Timothy B. Faber (Tim), Chief Executive Officer
Tim co-founded and served as CEO/President of U.S. Personnel, Inc. (USP), a $47 million (76,000 billable hours, 22,000 W-2) diversified staffing company. He led the expansion of the company to 21 southeastern locations, 5 service lines, and two acquisitions. The company was twice named to the Inc. 500 and was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year award by Ernst & Young, Entrepreneur Magazine and The Kaufman Foundation.
USP was acquired in 1996 by Staffing Resources, Inc. (SRI aka EmployBridge), a private-equity backed, $400 million staffing roll-up with ~250 offices. Tim served as EVP/COO of SRI’s Strategic Services Group, a $120 million IBU of IT, transportation, healthcare, accounting & finance, and skilled manufacturing services. While there, he launched a national/strategic accounts division, company-wide training programs, cross-selling service-line promotions, and worked closely with the board, investors and executive team.
Following Staffing Resources, Inc., he served on the board and was interim CEO of Paradyme, Inc., a $118 million BPO/PEO private-equity backed roll-up where he led an 18-month multi-tranche’ private-placement effort raising $20 million.
He is currently the CEO of Surestaff, a private-equity backed, $250 million, Chicago-based staffing company with 38 locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Indiana, and Texas. Surestaff has been twice named as one of the largest 100 staffing companies in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analyst (SIA). The company provides traditional temporary and contract services as well as strategic workforce solutions, onsite vendor-on-premise programs, direct hire and search solutions, and large volume on-demand staffing.
Tim’s staffing industry experience extends to industrial, administrative, accounting and finance, healthcare, physician locum tenens, executive recruiting, outsourcing, as well as IT consulting, and software integration and development.
Tim works closely with USC’s Moore School of Business as a director of the Advisory Board of the Faber Center for Entrepreneurship. The Center provides undergraduate, graduate, and executive curricula for entrepreneur and intrapreneur development and maintains close affiliations with PE, angel investment groups, departments of commerce, venture capital groups, and incubators.
He recently served as CEO of Snelling Staffing, LLC, a $225 million network of 80+ branch offices, onsites, and franchises serving domestic U.S. clients. Snelling is one of the oldest and most established brands in the industry reaching over 500 offices in the early 1990’s. Snelling is a Patriarch Partners/Lynn Tilton portfolio company.
Tim is an investor/director of an Atlanta-based internet/ecommerce firm specializing in CPG products and has invested, assisted or consulted with numerous companies on staffing, start-up functions, training, sales and marketing in a number of industry verticals – automotive, commercial recreation equipment, orthopedic distribution, and CPG distribution and sales channels.
Prior to U.S. Personnel, he was with IBM as a Systems Engineer and subsequently a Senior Marketing Representative responsible for sales and marketing of large systems, software, and consulting services to financial, insurance and public sector accounts. He was named IBM’s NAD (National Accounts Division) Rookie of the Year.
Tim holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science with a minor in Finance (cum laude) from the University of South Carolina; was nominated for and graduated from IBM’s Executive Management Program and has attended numerous executive education programs and conferences including Wharton’s Mergers & Acquisitions program, Credit Lyonnais’ Staffing Roll-Up conference, and diligence and integration programs sponsored by the M&A Leadership Council, American Staffing Association (ASA), and Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt.
